people slipping up and saying shit like “biological name” instead of “deadname” is more or less proof these people don’t actually care about real science they just want smart sounding words and i guarantee if we could manipulate chromosomes they’d abandon all pretext of science and start yammering about how people are born with a “masculine/feminine essence” that “cant be changed” like none of these people actually know the chromosomes real fuckin function and they dont care they just know they cant be changed

“Biological name”

Scientists scanned my dna, I’m genetically a Sally but I chose my own fate.

i changed my name for non gender related reasons and people like to ask me “what’s your birth name” and i say “oh i actually wasn’t born with a name my parents just gave me one” and that tends to shut people up

Damn nice

that’s an excellent response. gonna have to steal it

The Lincoln Assassination is really just wild if you think about it for a moment. The younger brother of one of the most famous actors in the country- himself a famous actor and heartthrob in his own right- killed the President in a theatre and yelled “Sic semper tyrannis,” a line often associated with Brutus, a character that his brother had famously played.

Like, imagine if Liam Hemsworth killed the Prime Minister of Australia at a red carpet movie premiere or something and yelled “I went for the head,” and Chris had to leave the Avengers press tour to tell everyone, “I swear I had nothing to do with this.” Imagine how weird that would be.

Texting my gay cousin to watch good omens and he’s like “I only like shows that actually end with gayness. What’s the point otherwise” you think you’re fucking better than me?? While you sat around being repressed during the era when the gayest thing on tv was Stefon and Seth Meyers I slaved away for your rights on fanfiction dot net. Pay your dues and get baited like an adult.

There actually is a weird and wild difference between people who are coming into their gayness now when they have a smidgen of representativity, and those of us who grew up not being used to that. I’ll tell him I think any random character is gay and he’ll say “I wish, but there’s no reason to think that, they’ve never said anything about it”. Hello?? What are you talking about?? My reason is that I feel like it and my evidence is that I’m just in the mood for the 101 Dalmatians henchmen to be gay right now. Just go around interpreting as much gayness as you want out of the world, no one’s keeping track.

Its because there’s been a shift from analyzing and interpereting media from a queer perspective to devaluing that and instead measuring media by the quality of its canon lgbtq representation

There’s also been a lot of effort made to devalue lgbtq people’s participation in transformative works, or transformative work in general. Queercoding and subtext is no longer usuable for analysis or transformative work because of black and white thinking and prizing blatant canon over audience interpretation
